Materials guide

Every material has its own strengths. Here's an honest look at what we print with and when each one makes sense. Not sure which fits your project? We'll recommend one when we review your request.

PLA

Crisp detail, matte finish, everyday objects.

PLA is a plant-derived filament that prints with sharp detail and a smooth matte finish. Ideal for décor, gifts and indoor products. Not suited to prolonged heat or direct sun.

PETG

Tougher and more flexible — functional parts.

PETG offers better impact resistance and temperature tolerance than PLA, with a slightly glossier finish. Our default for organisers, mounts and functional parts.

ABS

Heat-tolerant engineering material for enclosures.

ABS handles higher temperatures and can be vapour-smoothed for a glossy, injection-moulded look. Used for enclosures and parts that live near heat sources.

TPU

Flexible, rubber-like — grips, bumpers, seals.

TPU is a flexible filament for parts that need to bend, grip or absorb impact: bumpers, seals, phone grips and protective corners.

Reinforced composites

Fibre-reinforced materials for demanding parts.

For parts that need extra stiffness or durability we offer approved fibre-reinforced materials. Available through custom-print requests after feasibility review.

Reinforced & speciality materials

Fibre-reinforced and other speciality materials are handled through custom requests, so we can confirm suitability and pricing for your specific part before quoting.
